Reflection

The thing that I have learned the most in the past two years is that a good story doesn't have to be a million pages. A good story just has to have good word choice, good description and good syntax. I had Mrs. Johann for the past two years and learned many styles and other things besides how to write a good story.

Why journals are dumb

There is absolutely no reason for us to be writing in journals. I mean, why are they even called journals? It should be called dumb writing. What point other than wasting time do journals(or dumb writing) have? I think that we should skip doing these journals from now on.

What I did over Spring Break

I slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and watched TV, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and went to a wrestling tournament, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and went to the bathroom, and slept, and cleaned my room, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and played some video games, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and ate a bowl of cereal, and slept, and slept, and slept, and watched some more TV, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and went to the museum, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and went to brunch, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and ate a peanut butter sandwich, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and slept, and went to church, and slept, and slept.

Movie Response

I would like to go down in history as a physicist! YAY
The election of Abraham Lincoln made the South go into a secession. The Battle of Gettysburg showed the North's power. Abraham Lincoln lead the north to victory.

Reflection

I think that I did use my class time wisely. That we got to write a free write. That you didn't give us enough time. I could make it longer.

Character Interview

Question: First of all, how you doing? Answer: How does it look like I'm doing? I've lost everything, my mother, father, brother, friends, even my Captain. Question: Well that's too bad, but why did you decide to stay by the generals side? Answer: I don't know, I guess that I just felt like it was my duty to protect him. Question: Okay, then if it you're duty to protect him, why didn't you position yourself at the same tree, or a tree away from General Sickle? Answer: Well, to be honest, I didn't want him knowing. I was kind of embarrassed you see.

Brady: You stole my cheeseburger! Devin: No I didn't! Brady: Then what's that ketchup doing on your mouth when you ate soup? Devin: What if I like ketchup with my soup? Brady: But I know that you don't because you've eaten soup without ketchup all the time. Andrew: What are you two arguing about. Brady: He ate my cheeseburger! Devin: Okay, I was hungry, there was only a little bit left anyway. Brady: I took two bites before I went to the bathroom! Devin: Fine there was a lot left, but I need the calories because I'm skinny. Andrew: Devin, you're 15 years old, and you weigh 250 pounds. You're not skinny. Devin Fine whatever, but the cheeseburger was calling to me. Andrew: Whatever, but there's only one way to solve this. Devin, Brady, and Andrew: A DUEL!!!!! 5 minutes later... Casey: what are you guys doing in the basement, come up and get some cheetos? Brady: We will in a sec! Andrew: Devin! Not that kind of duel! Devin: Oh, sorry. Andrew: Devin, put your pants back on! Brady: You have spongebob underwear? Casey: Never mind, I don't want to know.

Dialogue

Person 1: I don't know what I've been told... Person 2: Dude, shut up. 1: But War seems to be mighty cold... 2: I said shut up. 1: I don't know what I've been told... 2: S-H-U-T-U-P, shut up. 1: But War... 2: I am going to take your hand, saw it off, and then shove your head in a meat grinder. 1: That was, uh, explicit. 2: Serves you right considering I had to say "shut up" three times before hand. 1: You never said please. 2: You know, I really don't like you, and you're just a private. 1: Does it matter that I'm just a private. 2: Yea, because I'm General Sickle, and you're going to be in my regiment private, uh, Stew, or something. 1: It's Steve, and I think that I'm going to go complain to President Lincoln. 2: Lincoln? We're just outside of Gettysburg, how are you going to complain to Lincoln. 1: Well, oh well, bye anyway. 2: Yea whatever. 1:

Civil War Book Response

The Thesis of the book was that the Battle of Gettysburg was a very important battle. The main point of the book is to inform people about the Battle of Gettysburg. I have started thinking about my historical fiction. I have made up characters in mind for my story. I'm going to set the story at Gettysburg when the battle happened. The conflict is that my main character is trying to not get killed. My character doesn't want to get killed. I think that staying alive is a good enough motivation. The main character has to kill the enemy soldiers in order to get what he wants.

What Motivates People

I think that money and a hunger for power is what motivates most people because I just saw a movie called "Inside Job" and it told how President Obama elected all corrupt people to be in congress. The Thing that motivates me the most is the want to help people.

Are There Times Where It Is Justified To Fight?

I believe that there are times when it is justified to fight. If you were fighting for freedom, then it would be justified. You fight for something without being violent too. Just take Martin Luther King Jr. He did absolutely no fighting, and still got what he was fighting for. I would fight for a new president because the present president elected all corrupt officials to be in his office.

Does Everyone Have Free Will?

I do not think that everyone has free will because there are some dictators in the world that make it so everyone doesn't have free will. I formulated my opinion because a lot of people were doing presentations on dictators in social studies. So yes it is from observation and not from experience.

3 changes to the school

1. I would make the days an hour and a half longer, but make it so there would be no school on Fridays because kids would be happier if they had a longer break.
2. I would add more foreign languages so kids would have another path in high school
3. I would make it so there was longer resource with the extra time because then kids could meet with teachers longer and get their help.
Yes the students would still be prepared for high school because they would still be getting the same education.

How not to catch a sea turtle

Basically there are researchers that are trying to research how to not catch a sea turtle in fishing nets. I think that that is an imposing problem because sea turtles are starting to die out. I believe that they should keep researching this topic and doing what they need with the turtle excluder devices to make the turtles safer.

Our discussion went well. I knew my topic and kept everyone on task. I could've added more facts. I thought that it was a good way to do an essay. Trying to think of facts about Christmas. That the discussion went well.

Steve the Snail

There once was a snail named Steve. Steve was different from the other snails, he would spend all day in his shell. The other snails made fun of him for that, but he couldn't even hear them because he would be in his shell. His parents knew that he was in there and alive because they put food in the shell, left, and when they got back the food remains were in front of the shell. One day Steve's parents decided not to leave when they gave Steve his food, but to peek past the bedroom door. Then they saw that a hole in the wall, an almost invisible one, began to open. Then out stepped, a hawk. Steve's parents squealed and sprinted away from the door. Then Steve popped out from behind the hawk and thanked him for his sevices. Steve ate the food with delight, for it was his favorite, seaweed and lettuce sprouts.

Can human beings ever truly be equal?

No I don't think that human beings could ever be equal because then there would be no one to move the human race forward. It would just be a stand still because no one would have enough intelligence to think of new things. The world would be very unhappy because one, there would have to be handicaps, or two, people would have to be genetically altered.

If I had a superhuman power...

If I had a superhuman power then I would choose the power to have infinite other powers so I could have as many powers as I'd like. Then I'd be able to have every single power there is.
